Swimming, Skiing, and updates of life.
So it has been a fun week. I am still loving having my sister Raili home from China and am spending as much time as I can with her. She is moving back to Denver July 2nd. (so she can stay for Mayas 1st birthday the day before.) We have been keeping busy and since spring break was this week, I was able to do a couple fun things with the family. We got to go bowling together about 4 days ago where I score a whopping 83. I was quite pleased with my score. :)
On Tuesday we all went skiing. I have never been in my life so I was pretty nervous. Plus, that meant I had to leave Maya for 6 1/2 hours or so. Which isn't a big deal normally but since I am still nursing and she eats every 4 hours, that was a little hard. Dont worry I didn't let my baby starve, she has been eating a lot of solids lately and I am trying to move her more in that direction anyhow. My mom said she would watch her cause she wanted me to go have some fun. It turned out really good and Maya was great for them. Skiing on the other hand, was another story...
I couldn't figure out how to stop! I would go down the hill at supersonic speed (just the small part of the bunny hill mind you) but I was so scared and then once i fell I couldn't figure out how to get up. So I had to take off my ski's to even get up. I tried a second time and fell down again but this time when I tried to put my ski's back on I couldn't get it to work. seriously I was trying for almost 15 minutes until I realized that there was a ton of snow packed on the bottom of my boots so thats why it wasn't working.
Luckily there was an instructor there who saw how badly I was doing and helped me out so I was able to learn how to slow down. Its awfully embarrassing falling all over the hill with 4 and 5 year olds zipping all around you with no problems at all. By the end of the day I was actually doing pretty good and graduated to the top of the bunny hill. It was pretty great.
The next day I took Raili and camille with me to the YMCA so they could go swimming with me and Maya. I love the kiddie pool there. Its rather big with fountains shooting up and a slide and toys-it made me wish I wasn't so tall so I could go on the slide.
It took Maya about 5 minutes to even get into it, but once she did she was kicking and splashing all over and having a great time.
So overall things are going good and Maya is almost 9 months... (wow) she is crawling all over and standing up holding onto furniture. Its been really exciting to see her progress so much. She has been giving me a decent amount of sleep through the night as well so I am doing great as well.

Funny Picture...
The other day I laid Maya Down on her mat that she plays on and I put her on her tummy so she could have some tummy time. I had some things to do, but after about 5 minutes she started yelling (which she often does, so i wasn't too worried about it) but finally she started crying so I went over to check on her because she actually doesn't like laying on her stomach-and when I picked her up, this is what I found..... she had spit up everywhere!! She isn't strong enough to keep her head up all the time so her face had bopped down into her spitup and she got it all over her face. Ryan was there and as I was about to wipe it off he said, "no wait-lets get a picture!" (how did I not think of that?) Anyhow, it gave us a good laugh, even if maya was mad.

Maya's first baseball game
We went to a minor league baseball game on saturday night in sacramento. The rivercats were our team and I have to say that they stink! The score was what....17 to 0....hmmmm-pretty sad! Maya did rather well though, she slept through most of it under a whole bunch of blankets and then when she woke up she was really happy and playful. We went with our friends Drew and Mindy, It was really fun to hang out. the best part was the fireworks at the end. Since Maya was only 4 days old on the 4th of July this year I missed fireworks (that is my favorite part about the 4th) so that made up for it and I was shocked that she really liked them. She was getting really fussy and crying and as soon as they started she stopped and stared the whole time. As soon as they finished she started crying again. All in all it was a really great evening!
